The RTPI North West - with sponsors White Young Green (WYG) - awarded Booths’ headquarters in Preston, Lancashire, ‘Best Office Building’ and ‘Overall winner for 2009’ at its AGM on Friday 4th December. The highly sustainable and very attractive building was designed by Brian Soppitt of Farrel & Clark Architects of Leeds.
Steven Abbott Associates LLP was cited as a member of Booths’ professional team for playing its part in the winning scheme. Others named for their significant contributions were Robert Pinkus and Co., Donald Clark Ltd., Burro Happold, Turner Lowe Associates and developers Eric Wright Group.
Partner Steven Abbott said:
“Credit must go primarily to Graham Booth (Booths’ Property Director) and Brian Soppitt (Architect) who together fused vision, creativity and environmental awareness to create a building and related development which is ahead of its time. As Booths’ retained planning consultants we are very proud to be associated with this excellent scheme. We thank the North West branch of the Institute and WYG for recognising its many qualities.”
