Booths Opens New Store in Garstang Town Centre

North West based food and drink retailer Booths has opened a new store in Garstang, Lancashire.

The 22,000sq ft store represents significant investment in the local area, with Booths working in close collaboration with Wyre Council to deliver a number of additional enhancements to the town, including a new town square, new toilet facilities, car parking, a new tourist information centre and public seating.

The store is situated in Garstang town centre and includes a Neal’s Yard cheese counter, a bakery, a self service juice bar and a Café 1847 which incorporates an interactive children’s zone.

Independent town planning consultancy, Steven Abbott Associates (SAA) worked on the project from its inception, advising Booths on all planning matters and partner Steven Abbott is delighted with the result.

Abbott comments: “The new store is set to deliver tangible benefits to Garstang in terms of the local economy.  Booths has not only invested heavily in the development and the surrounding locality, but Booths also has a policy of recruiting staff locally, with the store delivering a number of jobs to the town”.

The development was designed by Damson Design of Kendal. Other professional advisers involved included Robert Pinkus and Co (commercial), Donald Clark and Helen Baldwin (concept and internal design architects respectively), Napthens (legal) and Turner Lowe (transport).
