Paul Ainsworth in Padstow
New hotel and restaurant improvements in the Conservation Area

Steven Abbott Associates LLP (SAA) has recently secured various listed building consents and planning permissions for top chef Paul Ainsworth concerning two premises in Padstow’s historic conservation area in North Cornwall

Number 6

This is Paul’s Michelin* accredited restaurant.  Here, listed building consent has been granted for internal improvements which will enhance the attractiveness of the first floor of the listed building to customers by introducing a new internal window and servery. SAA worked with BGW Design Studio on this matter

Padstow Town House (PTH, formerly Tregea Hotel)

Another listed building, this old hotel is very well known in Padstow but sadly had closed down last year under previous ownership. It is being completely refurbished and enhanced following close attention to its history and design detail by Sam Mayou of CAD Architects of Truro

PTH will be operated in concert with Number 6 Restaurant offering diners bespoke accommodation a short walk away and in a beautiful part of the town

SAA partner Steven Abbott said:

"We are delighted that we have secured permissions on both of Paul Ainsworth’s listed premises. Number 6 is now a well established part of the Padstow culinary scene. The Padstow Town House will enhance the offer of the restaurant and revitalise a part of town of which the hotel was an important facet. Paul stands for quality and both projects reflect that attention to detail typical of his restaurant

I also would like to thank members of Padstow Town Council who took an interest in the proposals and gave them their unanimous support

We also had great assistance from the planning and conservation officers at Cornwall Council who acted quickly and offered constructive advice’

Paul also operates Rojanos In The Square in Padstow on which planning permission was granted recently for an exciting contemporary conservatory"

Padstow Town House is due to open this summer
