Major Regeneration Boost Proposed For South Prescot

Prescot Business Park Limited will be submitting an outline planning application to Knowsley Borough Council for a mixed use redevelopment of the former BICC/Prysmian Cables site within the South Prescot Action Area.

The 64 acre site, which has been vacant and derelict for many years, was acquired by Prescot Business Park Limited in 2010. The site owners have prepared initial indicative proposals which include substantial new housing, economic development and greenspace across the site.

Those proposals are to be the subject of a Public Exhibition to be held at Prescot Library between 2 pm – 7 pm on Friday 27th May. It is hoped that local residents and Councillors will take the opportunity to see the emerging proposals for the area and provide positive feedback.

More information about the proposals can be found by clicking here.

Michael James of Prescot Business Park Limited said:

“We are very excited by the prospect of regenerating this significant site. The intention is to deliver a high quality regeneration scheme which can address the development needs of Prescot and the wider Knowsley area by transforming an under utilised derelict brownfield site into a neighbourhood which complements and adds to the physical and social environment of Prescot.

It is intended that the scheme will support the wider aspirations of Knowsley Borough Council to rejuvenate the Township of Prescot.”

The outline application will be submitted during the summer.
