Independent town planning practice Steven Abbott Associates has secured planning permission on appeal on behalf of its client Bodycare.
The appeal, which was made under section 78 of the Town and County Planning Act 1990 against refusal to grant planning permission in September last year, will now allow internal and external alterations to the Bodycare premises in Sheffield.
The application was initially refused by Sheffield City Council as it was considered that the proposed alterations to the shop front, which is located on a pedestrian street within a busy retail area would have a negative effect on the appearance of the property and the surrounding area. Steven Abbott Associates submitted an appeal on behalf of Bodycare and the Planning Inspectorate agreed wholly with Steven Abbott Associates’s arguments and subsequently allowed the appeal.
Steven Abbott Associates Associate Christie McDonald comments "We are experienced in the handling of appeals under planning legislation and can advise on the appropriate procedure to follow to ensure the best possible outcome for both our clients and the local community; ensuring that any concerns are answered sufficiently."
